Sat 21              Symphony Under The Stars –The Domain

For those interested maybe a walk in the gardens prior to the evening events or an afternoon of Board Games. Come and join the fun time, bring blanket, picnic tea and bubbly etc. enjoy the excitement. Contact Robert Greig 9587 7614, 0416 360

 

Sun 22             Crosslands -Walks / Canoes

Depart club 8:30am drive to Hornsby take Galston Rd Turn off turn right into Somerville Rd follow to the end will finish at reserve adjoining Berowra Creek. Can walk part of the great north walk, paddle the canoes/kayaks or just veg out. Club to provide B-B-Q Bring the kids or a friend. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

 

Wed 25 – Sun 29            Alternate Lifestyle Festival near Mangrove Mountain

(1½ hrs north of Sydney)

Sun 29             Hunters Hill

Depart club 8:30 am drive to Boronia Park. Walk is along part of the Great North Walk and Lane Cove River, bring picnic lunch. Grade Easy-Med ~8km Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797.

Sun 5               Girakool National Park -Entry Fee Applies need coins for machine

Depart club 8:00am, drive along old Pacific Highway to Park. Cross Piles Creek via a small suspension bridge, view aboriginal engravings. Bring Water, Club to provide Sausage Sizzle Picnic lunch. Easy Med ~6km. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

Sun 12             Bowls Day

Venue Picnic Point Bowling Club, 24 Lambeth St Panania arrive 9:45am to commence 10:00am, Green Fee $6.00 per person, prizes will be awarded. This could be an enjoyable day as a come and try, Be coached, bowls supplied by club, need flat sole footwear, B-B-Q lunch will be provided. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

 

Sun 19             Forestville -Garigal National Park Loop Walk

Depart club 9:00am. This park is located under the Roseville Bridge to get there you need to cross the bridge take first street on left (Valley Rd) do a u turn & come back towards the bridge and take next left turn to go under the bridge. This is a National Park entry fee may apply. Club will have kayaks for those who would like to paddle or there are several walks. Club to provide Sausage Sizzle Picnic lunch. Sat 25              Mt Wilson  -canyon OR walk

Depart Club 8:00am (need to leave 6:30am to Li-Lo this canyon) drive to Mt Wilson via Richmond. Mt Wilson village is renowned for fine gardens and tree lined streets. EITHER there are a number of short walks (one is called the Cathedral of Ferns) & Picnic, OR walk to Canyon (no abseiling) and Li-Lo, raft or float down the canyon -wet suit advisable. Bring picnic lunch, should be a great day out for all. Grades: Walks-Easy or Canyon-Med-Hard ~6kms. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

Sun 5               Terrigal – Forresters

Depart Club 8:30am. Drive to Terrigal car park at southern end of beach to commence walk. All of  this walk is along the coastline and adjoining beaches. Bring swimmers and picnic lunch. There is an excellent fish cafe at Terrigal. Easy-Med 10kms. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

 

Sat 11              Garage Sale

Held at club hall, doors open 8:00am. Stalls will be available to non-members at a cost of $10.00 per site. Club members need to book early to secure a top spot. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

 

Sun 12             Bike Ride Tempe

Depart club at 9:00am drive to Gough Whitlam Reserve Bayview Ave Tempe. Rides can go towards Botany Bay or Strathfield maybe both, it will depend how energetic one feels. B-B-Q Picnic Lunch, club to provide. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

 Sun 26             Sylvania Waters -Canoes / Kayaks, Spa, BBQ

Depart club 9:00am, drive to Sondra’s home at Sylvania Waters. Paddle around Sylvania waters / Taren Point or chill out in her outdoor heated spa. Club will provide B-B-Q lunch. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

 

 

APRIL

 

Sat 1 - Sun 2             Canberra, -International Walk OR Museum/Gallery/Market visits

Depart Friday night (arrange your own accommodation). Walkers need good pair of walking / jogging shoes as walks range from 10, 20, 30kms each day depending on which one you enter. OR visit a variety of museums, galleries or markets. Return home Sunday afternoon after medal presentations. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

Sat 8 - Sun 9               Jervis Bay - Bristol Point –Camping weekend / Camp Site 1

Depart club at 7:30am as drive is approx 2-2 1/2 hrs. Come and enjoy bushwalking, snorkelling and swimming or just a quite weekend with a book. Note park entry fee applies for each vehicle of $10.00 per day ( 24 hr period  If interested you can acquire a yearly pass for $30.00 ). Overall Camp costs will depend on number in attendance. Thurs 13 - Mon 17            Easter - National Folk Festival Canberra

4½ days of great music & dance including International artists. There are often 5 music & 2 dance venues (& another for children) operating simultaneously. Camping on site at Exhibition Park. Tree Valley Camden Valley Way Cross Rds Liverpool. Cost $12.00 this is a Par 3, 18 hole course. Need bookings ASAP to enable us to get this event organised. Could be a real FUN day B-B-Q lunch club to provide. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797

Sun 7               Kurnell Canoes / Kayaks

Depart club at 8:30 drive to Kurnell take road along side Botany Bay turn left and drive to the reserve at Bonna Point.  Canoes /Kayaks will be able to paddle around Botany Bay foreshores, Bring a friend or two.  Club to provide Sausage Sizzle Picnic lunch. Contact Larry Bourne 9774 1797
